Skye Wanda earns herself two nominations at the 2023 Basadi In Music Awards. She will be going head-to-head with some of the industry giants in the categories of ARTIST OF THE YEAR and DANCE ARTIST OF THE YEAR. However, she has earned her spot as well! The multi-talented songstress, songwriter and producer has been towering the music scene with her award winning ‘AMAZWI’ and her current single with Harrison Crump, ‘MEASURE OF LOVE’, that both form part of her much-anticipated project dropping later this year, titled ‘STARLIGHT’, which is funded by the SAMPRA Development Fund.

The two nominations mark a good run for Skye Wanda as this is not her first Basadi In Music Awards nomination. In the previous year, 2022, she walked away with the SAMRO SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR category. The singer has just recently won the HOUSE SONG OF THE YEAR at the 2023 MMA as well. What may be dawning is that music accolades could be pilling up quite fast for Skye Wanda!

The Basadi In Music Awards is in its second year running. Earlier on this month the official date for the awards was announced, which is the 12^th of August, making it a perfect date since it will also be National Women’s Month in South Africa. The nominees of this auspicious date were announced on Thursday, the 29^th of June and were hosted by Candice Modiselle. Music lovers from all walks of life have up until the 24^th of July to vote for their favourite artist in each category.
