NATHI’S IMIMOYA AND ANGEKE GOES GOLD

Nathi’s hit singles, ‘Imimoya’ and ‘Angeke’ ft. TeeTee off of his fourth studio album titled ‘Usiba Lwe Gazi’ have gone GOLD. This milestone comes hot on the heels of the balladeer winning a Best African Adult Contemporary award at the 2023 South African Music Awards. The album has also earned 3 nominations at the South African Traditional Music Awards.

It’s no secret that ‘Imimoya’ is a spiritual song in which Nathi has referenced a scripture from the Bible that says, “Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.

The crooner is gearing up to release the music video for this hit single in December. While 'Angeke', which features up-and-coming artist TeeTee, is a love song that gives assurance to one’s partner that they have no intentions of ever breaking up with them or leaving them, it is a promise that even with all the challenges in a relationship, they are entirely committed. Both songs have been playlisted, made radio charts on the country’s top stations, and enjoyed unwavering support from his fans on social media.

‘Usiba Lwe Gazi’ loosely translates to “the feather pen of blood” which is interpreted as Nathi’s feather pen used to write the words/letters from his heart (with his blood as the ink). Known for his majestic poetic writing, the album has taken his fans on a musical journey that has evoked various emotions and has them dancing and singing along. Usiba Lwe Gazi was written over 2020 and 2021 during a global pandemic – COVID-19 – during which Nathi lost both his parents due to the virus. Nathi makes beautiful music—no specific genre, no specific theme, and no specific trend. Just music for all to enjoy.
