Thalente Mbatha scores a needed equalizer for Bafana on debut

Last week Friday, Bafana Bafana faced off against Uganda in an exciting clash at Orlando Stadium that ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw. The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with both teams displaying skill and determination throughout the 90 minutes. Lyle Foster opened the scoring for South Africa,capitalizing on a well played through ball to slot the ball home and put Bafana Bafana in the lead.
The home crowd erupted in celebration.
 
As the second half unfolded, Uganda Uganda struck two quick goals in succession as the scored in the 51st and 53rd minute. The two goals left the crowds in the stands shocked as the goal; keeper Veli Mothwa seemed to misjudge two well struck shots fro Uganda. 
 
Bafana Bafana continued to push for dominance, and their efforts were rewarded when Thalente Mbatha hit the back of the net in the in stoppage time, giving South Africa a much needed equalizer at the death of the game that left fans on the edge of their seats. While the draw was a disappointment for Bafana Bafana, the performances of Mbatha and Foster highlighted the potential of the squad as they look to build on this result in future matches and strengthen their campaign in international competitions.
