Edgar Muzah, a Zimbabwean-born musician now based in South Africa, was awarded the "Rest of Africa" accolade at the 30th South African Music Awards (SAMAs) for his album Son of a Tribe (Royalty Edition). Known for creating "Music of the World," Muzah blends African rhythms with global sounds, producing a unique style deeply rooted in African culture. His latest album, released in June 2023, is a powerful follow-up to Son of a Tribe, which earned him his first SAMA nomination in 2021. For Muzah, this award signifies validation of his talent and a motivating factor to push creative boundaries further.

Muzah has an impressive history of collaborations with prominent South African and African artists, such as Ringo Madlingozi, Amanda Black, and Nomcebo Zikode. He also founded Edgar Muzah & Friends, a series of live performances featuring musicians he’s worked with over the years. Supported by REkre8 management, Muzah is signed with Gallo Music Publishing and Content Connect Africa, expanding his reach across the continent. His role as an ambassador for Cort Guitars and Fusion Bags further highlights his impact within the African music industry.

Muzah also serves as a senior production engineer at Algoa FM, where his talent and dedication enhance both the listener experience and the station’s production quality. According to Algoa FM Managing Director Alfie Jay, Muzah’s award is a testament to the high caliber of talent the station attracts.
