Gallo Record Company Wraps Up 2024 with a Spectacular Lineup of Year-End Releases

Gallo Record Company is proud to announce its final music releases for 2024, a showcase of diverse South African talent centered around themes of reflection, resilience, and celebration. This year-end series features an impressive lineup of both iconic and emerging artists across various genres, each bringing a unique voice and message to close out the year.

 

Gospel sensation Sneziey returns with a powerful new single, “Uyinqaba Yethu,” inspired by Psalms 91. Meaning “Our Stronghold,” the track offers solace and hope, reminding listeners of God’s unwavering protection. Known for blending traditional and contemporary gospel styles, Sneziey continues her journey of uplifting South Africans through faith-based music, following the success of her album Sibonga Umusa. Abantu takes a nostalgic turn with their remixed single, “uPoison,” a modern reimagining of Imithente’s Maskandi classic. A cherished anthem from Maskandi’s golden era, “uPoison” has long evoked memories of family gatherings and festive celebrations. Abantu’s remix captures the song’s original charm, reinforcing its message of resilience and perseverance through life’s hardships—a message they hope resonates with today’s youth. Nozipho Phiri, known for her powerful performances with Joyous Celebration, now embarks on her solo journey with the debut single “Uyalalela” (The Lord Listens). Hip-hop artist K.Keed makes her mark with “Indaba Yethu,” a genre-blending single featuring Mi Casa’s J. Something and vocalist and songwriter, Kaylow. Mixing Alternative R&B, Afro-pop, and Dance, the track delves into themes of love and unresolved questions, showcasing K.Keed’s signature lyrical prowess and dynamic presence. Imithente, trailblazers in Maskandi music, continue to carry the torch with “Amathambo Kagogo (Grandma’s Bones),” part of their latest album in collaboration with Ama NND International. Lastly, Maskandi icon Phuzekhemisi returns with the album iPolotiki, a deeply personal project dedicated to his late daughter.
