Johannesburg, 14 November 2025  – Following the powerful impact of her debut album Bite the Bullet, South African rapper K.Keed continues her story with the release of Bite the Bullet (Deluxe) an emotionally charged extension that deepens the themes of self-reflection, vulnerability and perseverance that defined the original project.

The deluxe edition serves as both a continuation and an evolution, offering an intimate look at K.Keed’s personal and artistic growth since the album’s release.

The story of Bite the Bullet is a personal one, it’s about self-reflection and facing adversities to get where I am,” says K.Keed. “The destination isn’t always fixed, but the journey teaches you who you are. With this deluxe, I wanted to see if I could make it sound even better without disturbing its true essence by just elevating it.”

While Bite the Bullet introduced listeners to a fearless voice unafraid of confronting hardship, the deluxe edition amplifies that message. It reflects K.Keed’s evolution  musically, emotionally and spiritually, showcasing a refined sound that continues to blend Alternative R&B, Afro-pop and hip-hop with intention and authenticity.

There’s definitely been a turning point between the album and the deluxe,” she reflects. “Choosing to walk through the fire has shown me my capabilities. I’ve learned resilience that emotions and reality work hand in hand and I’ve poured that growth into the music.”

The additional songs in the deluxe serve as an extension of the Bite The Bullet world. “I had a lot of fun creating them and just challenging myself to see how I could elevate a world that’s already been established in a holistic manner,” says K.Keed. “I collaborated with more features too, which brought the fun and exciting part of the deluxe edition.”

She explains that Way Home with Tellaman was one of the earliest songs created for the project. “I think it was either at the beginning of the year or towards the end of 2024,” she recalls. “I was at home creating demos for the album and that song had a lot of potential and an enchanting vibe to it. I thought to myself, maybe the missing piece is Tellaman. I had other artists in mind too, but I just knew he would give me the vibe I wanted for the song. I had a studio camp a few months back and invited him he ended up pulling through and did the verse at the camp. I was geeking the whole time witnessing him create in that space we had created.”

The collaborations with Blxckie and Sastii also bring an infectious energy to the deluxe, contributing to the playful, genre-fusing spirit of the project. “I think the fans are going to love hearing these worlds collide,” she says. “My style and their styles blended really well together especially since we represent the new age of hip-hop. I’m excited to hear what the fans will think.

For K.Keed, collaboration is always intentional and rooted in mutual respect. “Honestly, I’m a person who knows what I want, so when choosing artists, I’m very intentional and it’s well thought out,” she explains. “There’s no pressure in any kind of way because I know I bring something different to the table, and I’m sure other artists think the same. It’s important to make sure that all the different styles complement each other, that’s the only way we can establish the uniqueness of everyone’s distinct style. I know what I’m capable of and where I fit in, so I play my part in a song and let others be themselves too, because that naturally creates balance while creating.

Every lyric and melody on Bite the Bullet (Deluxe) carries K.Keed’s signature emotional depth and raw storytelling. The added songs extend the album’s universe, offering new layers of introspection while celebrating strength through vulnerability.

I want my fans to know that everything I make is intentional and passion-driven,” she says. “Being vulnerable and relatable makes the best art. I hope this project inspires other women in hip-hop to be unapologetically themselves  to make timeless, meaningful art that represents who they are.”
