Johannesburg, 17 August 2026 – Gallo Record Company proudly celebrates a remarkable showing at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32), with its artists earning recognition across some of South Africa’s most prestigious music categories and taking home three major wins, led by Simphiwe Dana and Amadodana Ase Wesile.
As Africa’s oldest and largest independent record company, Gallo continues to honour its rich legacy of preserving and promoting South African music while championing artists whose work reflects the country’s diverse cultural heritage and evolving creative landscape.
Among the celebrated winners was acclaimed singer-songwriter Simphiwe Dana, who took home the award for Best African Adult Contemporary Album. The recognition follows the release of her deeply personal and critically acclaimed album, MOYA, further cementing Dana’s position as one of South Africa’s most influential musical voices. Through her distinctive fusion of jazz, soul and African musical traditions, Dana continues to use her artistry and storytelling to explore identity, heritage, love and the complexities of the human experience.
